So, if you're one of the lucky ones "loaded" enough to move to Sunset Islands' coveted dwellings, let me help you navigate life in this exclusive community — this in-depth guide is just what you NEED to relocate to Sunset Islands comfortably and stress-free!

Here are 7 things you need to do IMMEDIATELY when moving to Sunset Islands.

(1)

Entering A World Of Luxury, Privacy, And Community: A Guide To Your Sunset Islands Essentials

As you enter the Sunset Islands' unparalleled world of luxury, privacy, and community, don't forget to sort out the ESSENTIALS!

Your Sunset Islands' home essentials, that is!

To light up AND warm up your new home, create or log in to your existing account at the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) website and apply for electricity at your new address.

New account holders need to submit their Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the new service address, and the connection date, and existing FPL customers only need to advise the disconnection date (old address), re-connection date,  and complete service address for a service transfer.

With this process, a deposit of $25 (minimum) and other initial set-up fees may be charged upfront, whether you're a new or existing customer.

Meanwhile, if you still prefer natural gas over electric cooking appliances, get your service from TECO Peoples Gas!

Submit the necessary IDs and connection date (new customer) or advise the disconnection date, the complete address of your new home, and your preferred service transfer date (existing customer)!

To stay informed, deposit fees may be based on the home's square footage or equal to twice the average monthly bill, and you may need to settle a connection fee before the service connection.

Now, the waiting game begins — Sunset Islands' water and sewer services are provided by the City of Miami Beach, so ideally, you should have running water as soon as you move into your new home.

For concerns, questions, and requests about your water service, visit the City of Miami Beach Customer Service website to know more.

Rounding Up Your Sunset Islands Utilities: Technology Subscriptions You Need In Your Life

Now that you've sorted your basic Sunset Islands needs, it's time to take it a notch further by turning your house into a MODERN home!

And how will you do that, you ask?

Securing the fastest and most reliable internet connection and cable service around Sunset Islands!

So, if you've yet to set up your internet and cable connections, seek service from well-known providers like Comcast Xfinity and AT&T!

Once you've noted your household's usage and entertainment needs, apply for your preferred package by submitting your complete address and proper IDs online or in person at the nearest store, or if you're an existing Comcast or AT&T customer, request a service transfer as soon as you settle any remaining balance on your account!

It's also best to ask your provider about paying deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees upfront.

Otherwise, don't be surprised if they reflect on your first bill.

Solidifying Your Floridian Pride: The Quickest Way To Get Your First Florida ID

While most of you have drivers or chauffeurs to get you across Sunset Islands and Florida, forgetting to get a Florida driver's license will be the biggest mistake you'll ever make, especially if you're from another state or country!

Sure, you don't need to take public transportation or drive yourself anywhere you need to be.

However, without your Florida driver's license, getting another Florida ID will be a feat, and driving on Florida roads will be IMPOSSIBLE when the situation calls for it!

Oh, and it's a REQUIREMENT within 30 days of establishing residency, too!

So, to get your hands on one, visit the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services and submit the necessary documents.

Click on the applicable residency status to know which documents to have on hand when you apply:

The initial Florida Class E license, including a learner's permit, is $48.00, a commercial driver's license (Class A) is $75.00, and an ID Card fee is $25.00.

For a complete list of driver's license fees, click here.

Usually, those with a current or previous driver's license from another state, country, or jurisdiction don't have to take Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exams, and the Florida Driving tests, but the Vision and Hearing test is mandatory!

Those with an existing Florida driver's license must notify the DMV of their new address for an updated driver's license to avoid breaking the law!

You'll need insurance to title and register your vehicle(s) within ten (10) days of establishing residency.

Choose from options like South Pointe Elementary School, Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center, St. Patrick Catholic School, Casa Dei Bambini Montessori School, North Beach Elementary School, Mater Academy - Mount Sinai, The Cushman School, Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School,  Hebrew Academy RASG, Miami Beach Senior High School  — no need to skip on premium educational opportunities in Sunset Islands, now that you have Miami's best schools in your midst!

Embracing Democracy: Preserving Your Right To A Better Life In Sunset Islands

While sorting out your Sunset Islands essentials is KEY to a smooth relocation, your hard work may all be for NOTHING without voter registration!

Surely, you can't live in your new home peacefully and comfortably without a 'say' in what happens to the future of your neighborhood, city, and country!

I know I couldn't!

So, if you're a newly naturalized U.S. citizen or a longtime resident who isn't a registered voter but meets all the requirements to become one, submit your application with the proper IDs and documents through the Florida Department of State or the Miami-Dade County Elections Department online, by mail, or in person at the Elections Department or any Elections Branch office!

Any current and valid identifications with a photograph and signature (e.g., Florida Driver's License, United States passport, etc.) will do, so don't even think about skipping it!
