Embark on a never-ending beachfront adventure loaded with nature, leisure, dining, shopping, and wellness on SoBe's desirable sands as you find the perfect home in the heart of Sunset Harbour, a tiny, laid-back sanctuary revered as one of Miami Beach's prime communities!

Feast your eyes on the burgeoning live-work-play district of Sunset Harbour, a quaint neighborhood known for dining, leisure, and wellness in a non-touristy area moments from the Venetian Causeway.

Despite its tiny size, Sunset Harbour has remained one of SoBe's and Miami Beach's select communities, not only for its ideal location on South Beach's coveted sands but also for its proximity to the famous Lincoln Road, world-class amenities, breathtaking water views, and premium collection of waterfront real estate, most of which boast direct access to the neighborhood's trendy shops, intimate restaurants, and all-around entertainment!

Add all that to Sunset Harbour's subdued mix of serenity and energy and crowd-less sands, and it's easy to see why most locals vie for a spot in this dreamy community!

So, if you're gearing up for a lifetime of much-needed peace and serenity in the desirable neighborhood of Sunset Harbour, let me walk you through your relocation to make it more efficient and enjoyable — a little nudge in the right direction never hurt!

Here are 7 things you need to do IMMEDIATELY when moving to Sunset Harbour.

(1)

Starting A Life In SoBe's Trendy Waterfront Gem: Equipping Your Sunset Harbour Home With Essentials

No one goes to a 'battle' unarmed, or in your case, without home essentials, so for an efficient Sunset Harbour relocation, you'll need to start with the basics.

In other words, your electricity, water, and natural gas services!

But if you're still clueless about setting it up, fear not — I'm here to guide you through this stress-free process!

For your Sunset Harbour electricity, create or log in to your existing account at the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) website and apply for service at your new address.

New account holders need to submit their Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the new service address, and the connection date, and existing FPL customers only need to advise the disconnection date (old address), re-connection date,  and complete service address for a service transfer.

Apart from a service request, a deposit of $25 (minimum) and other initial set-up fees may be charged upfront, whether you're a new or existing customer.

While many rely on electric appliances, if you're among those who use natural gas for cooking, hook your kitchen up with TECO Peoples Gas!

All you need to do is submit the necessary IDs and connection date (new customer) or advise the disconnection date, the complete address of your new home, and your preferred service transfer date (existing customer).

Note that deposit fees may be based on the home's square footage or equal to twice the average monthly bill, and you may need to settle a connection fee before the service connection.

And that's a wrap — your water and sewer services are provided by the City of Miami Beach, so ideally, you should have running water as soon as you move into your new Sunset Harbour address.

Meanwhile, for concerns, questions, and requests about your water service, visit the City of Miami Beach Customer Service website to know more.

A Dash Of Technology: Enhancing Your Sunset Harbour Lifestyle With Internet And Cable TV

A home without internet and cable TV will be a lifeless resting space, so it's best to do yourself a favor by getting the fastest and most reliable internet connection and cable service in Sunset Harbour.

That's if you want to stay connected to the online "world" and updated with your favorite TV series!

Need a nudge in the right direction?

Get in touch with tried and tested service providers like Comcast Xfinity, or AT&T!

After you've assessed your household's usage and entertainment needs, you can apply for a new service by submitting your complete address and proper IDs online or in person at the nearest store, or if you're an existing Comcast or AT&T customer, request a service transfer as soon as you settle any remaining balance on your account!

It's also best to ask your provider about paying deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees upfront.

Otherwise, these will all reflect on your first bill.

Your Florida Driver's License: The Ultimate Kick-Off To Your Sunset Harbour Residency

Commemorate your new life in Sunset Harbour (or Florida) by getting a Florida driver's license!

Without one, you'll be banned from driving around Florida, and you can't call yourself an official Floridian!

Oh, and did I mention it's also a REQUIREMENT within 30 days of establishing residency?

Yes, folks, this is not a step you can skip, especially if you're from another state or country!

So, if you have yet to apply for a driver's license, visit the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services and submit the necessary documents.

Click on the applicable residency status to know which documents to have on hand when you apply:

The initial Florida Class E license, including a learner's permit, is $48.00, a commercial driver's license (Class A) is $75.00, and an ID Card fee is $25.00.

For a complete list of driver's license fees, click here.

Usually, those with a current or previous driver's license from another state, country, or jurisdiction don't have to take Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exams, and the Florida Driving tests, but the Vision and Hearing test is mandatory!

Those with an existing Florida driver's license will need to notify the DMV of their new address for an updated driver's license, otherwise, well, you don't want to know!

You'll need insurance to title and register your vehicle(s) within ten (10) days of establishing residency.

Quality Beachside Education: Where Sunset Harbour Youngsters Go To School

Are you still hunting for the best school for your kids in Sunset Harbour?

While you won't find any in the neighborhood, premium beachside education won't be amiss in Sunset Harbour, thanks to its coveted location in South Beach and Miami Beach!

In fact, aside from being set up for success from elementary to senior high, your kids can even choose from enrolling in a private, public, or charter school — how's that for a "school-less" community?

South Pointe Elementary School, Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center, St. Patrick Catholic School, Casa Dei Bambini Montessori School, North Beach Elementary School, Mater Academy - Mount Sinai, Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School,  Hebrew Academy RASG, Miami Beach Senior High School, and more  — you're looking at a treasure trove of Miami Beach's best educational institutions just moments away from Sunset Harbour!

Sunset Harbour On The Rise: Exercising Your Right To Vote In Sunset Harbour

Are you still wondering how you can become a registered voter in Sunset Harbour?

If you're a newly naturalized U.S. citizen or a longtime resident without one (for whatever reason), you'll need voter registration to fully immerse into the Sunset Harbour community.

I think no further explanation is needed!

So, if you want to have a "say" in your neighborhood's, city's, and country's future, and you're a legal-age U.S. citizen who meets all the requirements to become a voter, submit your application with the proper IDs and documents through the Florida Department of State or the Miami-Dade County Elections Department online, by mail, or in person at the Elections Department or any Elections Branch office!

Any current and valid identifications with a photograph and signature (e.g., Florida Driver's License, United States passport, etc.) will do, so make this your utmost priority!
