Let nautical bliss and understated luxury define your next chapter in Kings Bay, a gated sanctuary with a unique blend of exclusivity, waterfront charm, and affordable luxury in Coral Gables' southernmost edges.

Spanning roughly 68 acres with the Deering Bay Yacht Club at its north, the serene Snapper Creek Park at a walking distance of its western border, and the Palmetto Bay anchoring its southern corners, Kings Bay offers a premium selection of 150 homes, most situated inland, in an artful mix of architectural styles, each tailored to its spacious surroundings.

But while this is so, its deeded rights to nearby Deering Bay Marina and access to Biscayne Bay make Kings Bay Coral Gables' "Hidden Boater's Paradise," offering the perfect balance of laid-back coastal living and easy access to all Miami has to offer.

Are you dreaming of fishing off your dock? Craving a kayak paddle through Biscayne Bay's sparkling waters? Or perhaps you prefer a day of high-end shopping followed by dinner at one of Magic City's hottest restaurants?

At Kings Bay, you can have it all, and the best part is it's all just minutes from your doorstep.

Whether you're planning a move to this peaceful retreat or are already lucky enough to call it home, let our guide unlock the secrets to settling into Kings Bay and making the most of this idyllic waterfront lifestyle.

Your next adventure awaits, and trust us — it's going to be a beautiful one.

Switch On, Tap In, Gas Up: Your Kings Bay Utility Guide

Ready to watch your Kings Bay home come to life?

Set up your utilities and let your coastal paradise shine in a new light - literally!

First, let's talk power — Florida Power & Light (FPL), that is.

For your electricity needs, log into your existing  Florida Power & Light (FPL) account to request a service transfer to your new address — you'll only need to advise FPL of the date of disconnection (old address), the reconnection date, and the complete address of your new home.

However, if you're new to Florida, submit an online application with your Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the complete service address, and the connection date!

A deposit of $25 (minimum) and initial set-up fees may be charged before service connection, whether you're a new or existing FPL customer.

Meanwhile, if your home relies on natural gas for cooking or heating, Florida City Gas (FCG) is your go-to provider.

Once availability is confirmed, submit the necessary IDs and date of connection through your newly created online account, and you'll be all set!

Meanwhile, existing customers will only need to advise TECO or FCG of the date of disconnection (old address), reconnection date, and the new address.

Expect to be charged deposit fees based on your home's square footage, equal to twice the average monthly bill, alongside a connection fee, before the service starts.

Lastly, water and sewer services are managed by Miami-Dade Water & Sewer so check their website to confirm availability for your new home in Kings Bay.

Once confirmed, new customers must create an online account and deposit $50 for water, $50 for sewer, and a non-refundable $45 connection fee, and existing owners are also required to settle any outstanding balance before the selected transfer date.

Streaming by the Waves: Staying Connected in Kings Bay

Moving into your beautiful Kings Bay home is about enjoying the coastal views, having those Netflix marathons uninterrupted, and the daily video calls crystal clear.

The good news is that getting the best internet and cable TV package for your new slice of paradise is easier than you think, thanks to trusted providers like Comcast Xfinity and AT&T.

They'll provide you with competitive bundles and reliable service, so all you need to do is choose a plan that matches your streaming, surfing, and scrolling needs.

First, take stock of your home's internet usage — are you the occasional browser or the full-on gamer/streamer combo?

Once you've narrowed it down, head online or visit the nearest store to explore their plans, and when you're ready to sign up, have your complete address and ID handy.

If you're already a customer, you can transfer your service to your Kings Bay address, but settle any outstanding balance first to avoid hiccups.

Pro tip: Don't forget to ask about deposit requirements, activation or installation fees, and potential equipment rental charges.

With your internet and cable sorted, you'll be ready to catch up on your favorite shows, Zoom with loved ones far and wide, and live your best bayside life — all with a perfect signal!

From the Bay to the Highway: The Easy Route to Your Florida License

Are you moving to the exclusive Kings Bay community without a Florida driver's license? Well, think twice!

Not only is it required within 30 days of establishing residency, but it's also your official pass to cruise through Miami traffic without adding a violation to your record.

Consider it your golden ticket to freedom — on the road, at least!

To secure your Florida license, head to the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services with the proper documents based on your residency status.

Don't know what to pack? Click the option that fits you best:

For first-time Florida drivers, the Class E license (including a learner's permit) will set you back $48.00, while a commercial driver's license (Class A) costs $75.00.

Just need an ID card? That's $25.00.

For a complete list of fees, click here.

Here's some good news for licensed drivers from other states or countries: you'll probably dodge the Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exams, and Florida driving tests.

But don't think you're getting off completely free — the Vision and Hearing tests are still mandatory.

And don't forget your wheels!

You must get your car(s) titled and registered for insurance within 10 days of establishing residency.

Nothing says "I'm a Floridian now" quite like a shiny new license plate.

Already have a Florida driver's license? Simply update your address with the DMV to keep things current.

A new community, a new ID — it's all part of the Kings Bay lifestyle.

Now go on, get road-ready, and enjoy the ride, Kings Bay style!

Bag It, Bin It, Love It: Kings Bay Waste Tips for Fresh Faces

Living in Kings Bay means enjoying pristine waterfront views — and keeping it that way is all about mastering the art of trash disposal and recycling.

So, Kings Bay newbie, it's time to get acquainted with the waste management ropes before you unpack your first box!

Don't worry — we've got the scoop (and not the kind you need a shovel for).

Below is everything you need to know about garbage pickup, recycling schedules, and those ever-important "bulky trash" days.

Your Kings Bay Waste Management Cheat Sheet:

  • Garbage Pickup for Single-Family Homes: Twice a week. (Days depend on your address — Monday & Thursday or Tuesday & Friday.)
  • Recycling Collection: Weekly, with pre-dated drive-thru events for those extra eco-friendly vibes.
  • Bulky Trash Pickup: Once a week. Have an old couch or that broken beach chair? This is your moment.
  • Multi-Family Residence Garbage Collection: Twice a week.

Pro tip: The City of Miami Solid Waste Department oversees all this magic, so follow their rules closely.

Waste management violations aren't just a no-no — they could land you with a fine or even a date with a judge. (Let's be honest, no one wants that kind of drama in Kings Bay.)

To stay ahead of any updates, check out the Coral Gables and the City of Miami Solid Waste Department websites or your HOA.

So, grab those bins, sort that recycling, and get ready to keep Kings Bay as clean and pristine as the day you moved in.

Your neighbors — and Mother Nature — will thank you!
