Despite its idyllic location, bordering the Gables Waterway and Biscayne Bay's edge, nestled just 15 minutes from Downtown Coral Gables, Cocoplum is not a famous travel destination, nor is it your ORDINARY Miami neighborhood.

In fact, within this gated enclave are only 302 estate homes, most of which are owned by Miami elites, alongside lush foliage, beautiful palms, private docks, and a treasure trove of world-class amenities — a hidden gem appreciated by many, but only experienced by a handful of the most opulent of residents.

Yes, folks, you're looking at South Florida's most exclusive residential dwelling, Cocoplum, an elusive world to the masses where elegance is an aesthetic and a way of life, and if you're among the chosen few lucky enough to move into its luxurious embrace, prepare to be ushered into a lavish waterfront lifestyle unlike you ever known!

Lushly landscaped grounds at every corner, five-star facilities, sweeping water views, the most expensive real estate in the country, and a location moments from the BEST of Miami this is the life that awaits you on Cocoplum!

So, before you get too overwhelmed as you take this all in, ease into your NEW community with grace and style by starting with the ESSENTIALS!

Here are 7 things you need to do IMMEDIATELY when moving to Cocoplum.

"Warming" Up Your Lavish Cocoplum Estate: A How-To Guide In Setting Up Your Utilities

Settling into a house without electricity and running water is probably one of the worst "move-in" scenarios you'll ever encounter, so avoid spending the night in your new Cocoplum mansion sans any light and a nice, warm bath by scheduling your utilities ahead of time!

To set up your electricity, log into your existing Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) website account to request a service transfer to your new address — you'll only need to advise FPL of the date of disconnection (old address), the date of re-connection, and the complete address of your new Cocoplum home!

Meanwhile, new account holders need to submit their applications with their Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the complete service address, and the connection date!

Both new and existing FPL consumers may need to pay a deposit of $25 (minimum) and initial set-up fees before service connection.

Now, if you prefer natural gas service, check with established providers like TECO Peoples Gas and Florida City Gas (FCG)!

Once service is available, submit the necessary IDs and date of connection through your newly created online account, and you're good to go!

On the other hand, existing customers will only need to advise TECO or FCG of the date of disconnection (old address), the date of re-connection, and the new address.

Also, please expect to be charged deposit fees based on your home's square footage and equal to twice the average monthly bill, alongside a connection fee, before the service starts.

Lastly, check for water and sewer availability on the Miami-Dade Water & Sewer website!

Once confirmed, new customers must create an online account and deposit $50 for water, $50 for sewer, and a non-refundable $45 connection fee, and existing owners are also required to settle any outstanding balance before the selected transfer date.

A Gateway To Seamless Connectivity: Finding Premium Internet and Cable Providers For Your Cocoplum Home

Don't ruin the Cocoplum living experience by getting caught without a premium internet and cable service in your home!

Before your expected move-in date, start researching the best internet and cable providers for your Cocoplum estate — an informed decision is KEY to seamless and reliable connectivity at home!

But if you're still at a loss, try looking into well-established providers like Comcast Xfinity, and AT&T!

Once you've chosen your preferred bundle, apply for a new service online or in person at the nearest store, submit the necessary IDs, advise them of your complete address, and the rest is history!

Meanwhile, if you're an existing Comcast or AT&T customer, settle any remaining balance on your account and request a service transfer to your new address!

Also note that there may be deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees charged upfront or reflected on the first bill.

Exploring Cocoplum In Style: The Down-Low On Getting Your Florida Driver's License

Since you've chosen to move to Cocoplum, you must already be aware that public transportation within the community is NON-EXISTENT, which means having a car AND a Florida driver's license will not just be a luxury but a necessity.

So, if you're from another state, getting a Florida driver's license before your anticipated Cocoplum move is ideal.

Aside from being a requisite for driving on Florida roads without breaking the law, applying for a Florida driver's license is a must within 30 days of establishing residency.

Once you're ready with the necessary documents, visit the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services.

For more information on IDs and documents you need to bring, click on the applicable residency status:

Applicants with current or previous driver's licenses from another state, country, or jurisdiction may be able to skip the mandatory Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exam, and Florida Driving test, but the Vision and Hearing test is a MUST.

Meanwhile, if you already have a Florida driver's license, notify the DMV of your new address to get an updated driver's license.

Don't forget to get insurance to title and register your vehicle(s), too — you'll need to accomplish this within ten (10) days of establishing residency.
