Expect full-speed zoomies ahead as you and your pup roam, explore, and play in the Fido-approved parks surrounding West Little River, a long-established community offering serene, narrow residential streets, modest homes, and the presence of the Little River, a historic waterway flowing east toward Biscayne Bay.

Set in north-central Miami-Dade, West Little River offers an atmosphere that reflects decades of local history and a community grounded in routine and resilience, which extends to four-legged residents.

Yes, you're not mistaken.

While West Little River doesn't have a dedicated dog park of its own, its location places several dog-friendly parks just a short drive away, ensuring your dog's next outdoor escape is never more than a quick commute.

So grab the leash, pack the treats, and head out — West Little River makes it easy for paws and people alike to enjoy the greener side of Miami living.

Here are the dog-friendly parks near West Little River.

The park, while tiny in size, is a hit with dog owners living in and around the neighborhood since it allows pets to roam around on a leash.

It's also the perfect place for your dogs to socialize since you'll find several furry visitors hanging out in this spot, especially during the afternoon.

Not far from Upper Buena Vista, West Buena Vista Mini Park is your best bet if you're looking for a quick break after exploring the neighborhood's town square.

2) Buena Vista Park

5250 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127

With picnic tables, a playground, a basketball court, and a rec center, it's a solid spot for families, solo visitors, and yes, dog parents, too.

You'll find locals stopping by for a short morning walk or lingering after school programs let out, enjoying the laid-back energy the park naturally brings.

Remember, dogs are welcome here, but only if leashed, so bring yours along with a little extra water and a few cleanup bags.

3) Manatee Bend Park

465 NE 77th Street Rd, Miami, FL 33138

On the banks of the historic Little River, wedged up against the bustling neighborhood of Miami Ironside, sits a patch of grass where you can lie about and let your dog run around near West Little River.

Welcome to Manatee Bend Park, a 1.2-acre park with open green spaces and fields right on the river, with tall trees that cover more than half of it under shade, located just 13 minutes away.

Here, dog lovers and their pups can stroll its small, partly-shaded looping concrete trail, perimeter sidewalk, and a concrete trail that follows along the river's edge.

It offers benches along the edge of the grass and a rocky shore that descends into the water.

One of the best features of this park is the fact that you can view manatees at this park.

With picnic tables and benches available, there is plenty of room to sit and relax on the shore, where you can view hordes of sea cows relaxing in the water.

Due to this, doggie visitors must remain on a leash while at Manatee Bend Park.
