Clip on the leash and grab the treats as your pup steps into a series of tail-wagging adventures around Naranja, a grounded South Dade pocket of tradition and reinvention.

One sniff, stretch, and shady sidewalk at a time — that's the everyday life for the four-legged crew of Naranja, a modest yet evolving community dotted with single-family homes, new developments, and small businesses anchored along South Dixie Highway.

Bordered by Homestead to the south, Goulds to the north, and Princeton to the west, this stretch of Miami-Dade thrives on simplicity and local flavor, as its expansive streets, green pockets, and serene vibe create the perfect backdrop for neighborhood strolls and paw-friendly breaks.

Plus, when Fido needs more than the usual loop around the block, you're never far from parks, open fields, and trails that welcome paws with open arms.

So, tighten that harness and let that nose lead the way as we dive into the friendliest pet escapades just minutes from Naranja!

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Naranja.

1) Kevin Broils Park (Top Pick!)

26150 SW 125th Ave, Quail Heights, FL 33177

Kevin Broils Park might be known for its sports fields and fitness trail, but it's also a great place for a leashed dog walk, just 6 minutes from Naranja.

This community park features open fields, shaded paths, and a family-friendly atmosphere that makes it a good pit stop for both kids and canines.

And while there's no dedicated dog area, dogs on leashes are welcome throughout Kevin Broils Park, so invite Fido to take advantage of the walking trail that loops the park and consider stopping by during quiet hours for a more relaxed vibe.

As always, bring waste bags and water—there aren't pet-specific amenities at Kevin Broils Park.

2) Cauley Square Historic Village (Top Pick!)

22400 Old Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33170

A quiet stroll through cobblestone walkways and tree-shaded courtyards might not scream "dog walk," but at Cauley Square Historic Village, it's what pups like to do on the weekends—their furr-ents, too, and it's just 9 minutes from Naranja.

Here, leashed dogs are welcome throughout the vintage village, where you'll find charming cottages converted into boutiques, garden patios, fountains, and flower-covered trellises.

It's a peaceful place to browse, sip coffee outdoors, or wander together without a rush.

While there are no dog runs or designated play areas in Cauley Square, it'll be perfect for relaxed, leash-in-hand walking with a side of historic charm.

Just don't forget water and waste bags—this is a shared space for people and pups alike.

3) Patch of Heaven Sanctuary (Top Pick!)

21900 SW 157th Ave, Miami, FL 33170

If your dog meditates better than you do, take them to Patch of Heaven Sanctuary, a 20-acre slice of zen where butterflies float, banyan trees sprawl, and the only agenda is slow, intentional wandering (with a leash, of course), just 10 minutes from Naranja.

This private nature preserve is like walking into a living fairytale with moss-draped trees, winding trails, koi ponds, and tucked-away temples that make your usual walk around the block look like amateur hour.

At Patch of Heaven Sanctuary, dogs are welcome as long as they're well-behaved and leashed (we promise, even your chaos goblin of a chihuahua will feel unusually calm here.)

Sure, it's not your typical dog park but a quiet, contemplative space, and if you and your four-legged sidekick are into mindful meanders, nature bathing, or sniffing things that aren't city sidewalks, Patch of Heaven Sanctuary will hit the spot.

Spiritual reset for you and a sensory adventure for your pup.

Win-win.

4) Lincoln City Park

21200 SW 99th Ct, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

Lincoln City Park is the perfect low-key spot for a leashed walk with your pup, just 10 minutes from Naranja.

Small but functional, this neighborhood park offers a shaded walking path, lighted basketball courts, and open green space ideal for gentle strolls and breathers.

While not built for dog-specific fun, Lincoln City Park's vibe is casual, quiet, and local, ideal for short morning walks or stretching your pup's furry legs before heading home.

Bring waste bags and keep your dog leashed, especially near the playground.

5) Losner Park

104 N. Krome Ave., Homestead, FL 33030

For a quick afternoon walk with your dog around the Greater Homestead-Florida City area, look to Losner Park, a quaint nature spot with a few amenities you and your furry pal can enjoy, just 11 minutes from Naranja.

Here, you can enjoy several walking/jogging paths with Fido, leashed, a matted playground for the kids, picnic areas for a snack or simple lunch with the family, benches, a stage where community events are held, and a Veterans Memorial area.

Since Losner Park is located in downtown Homestead, it's near a lot of restaurants and shops, too, so don't forget to drop by and sneak in some shopping time before you head home.

6) Blue Heron Park

21900 SW 97th Ave, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

Find a scenic and shaded corner of Cutler Bay for leashed walks and fresh air at Blue Heron Park, just 11 minutes from Naranja.

With its butterfly garden, paved walking trails, and large green fields, Blue Heron Park is a calm, nature-forward escape for you and your dog.

There are no designated dog features in this park, but the paved path makes a solid loop for daily walks, and there's plenty of space to explore.

Bring your own water and poop bags, and stick to the trails, as Blue Heron Park is a peaceful park meant for mellow outings.

7) James Archer Smith Park

200-398 NW 12th St, Homestead, FL 33030

A "furr-iffic" park in the Greater Homestead-Florida City area you can bring your pup to is James Archer Smith Park, one of the pet-friendly nature enclaves just 12 minutes from Naranja.

At James Archer Smith Park, your dog can enjoy an array of agility equipment, including ramps, tunnels, and platforms. Aside from this, you'll find a separate area for small dogs to play in and doggy water fountains available.

There is also a lot of space outside the dog park, but your pup must remain on a leash to walk on the park trails.

The few trees that line the fenced dog park provide a decent amount of shade during most hours of the day.

Doggie bags and garbage cans are located at the entrance to the fenced area.

Other amenities include a kiddie playground, tennis courts, sports fields, public restrooms, pavilions with picnic tables, and a walking path surrounding the park.
