Let your dog set the pace as it sprints down sunlit trails, sniffs through grassy patches, or pauses under a palm tree for no reason at all in Goulds, an evolving historic suburb in southwest Miami.

Fuel a paw-some day with lush Florida foliage, shaded courtyard nooks, and tail-wagging romps packed with grit around Goulds, a taste of old South Florida in Miami's countryside.

Tucked into South Dade's quieter corridor, Goulds offers a mix of modern amenities, everyday calm, and rustic charm, where dogs and their humans can trade the pavement for patches of shade and the steady rhythm of a neighborhood that's always felt a little more local.

Here, suburban streets fade into nature trails, and old railroad history weaves between playgrounds, parks, and walkable paths that welcome paws as much as they do sneakers.

And yes— if you're looking for Fido-friendly spots to explore, stretch out, sniff around, and burn off all those zoomies (or at least tire your pup out trying), some of Miami's best are just minutes from Goulds, not including the ones right within its perimeter!

So, enjoy a quick leash walk or make it a full-blown adventure— either way, Goulds makes it easy to find a spot where your dog can be a dog amidst space, sun, and a lot of furry-tastic escapades.

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Goulds.

    1) Cauley Square Historic Village (Top Pick!)

22400 Old Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33170

A quiet stroll through cobblestone walkways and tree-shaded courtyards might not scream "dog walk," but at Cauley Square Historic Village, it's what pups like to do on the weekends—their furr-ents, too!

Here, leashed dogs are welcome throughout the vintage village, where you'll find charming cottages converted into boutiques, garden patios, fountains, and flower-covered trellises.

It's a peaceful place to browse, sip coffee outdoors, or wander together without a rush.

While there are no dog runs or designated play areas in Cauley Square, it'll be perfect for relaxed, leash-in-hand walking with a side of historic charm.

Just don't forget water and waste bags—this is a shared space for people and pups alike.

    2) Black Creek Trail (Top Pick!)

97th SW Ave, Miami, FL 33170

For those who prefer their walks with some mileage, Black Creek Trail is one of Goulds' most scenic options for leashed pets.

Stretching over 8.5 miles, this paved greenway weaves through neighborhoods, canal paths, and pockets of nature, offering shade, scenery, and steady movement.

It's not an off-leash park, but with flat, well-kept paths and minimal street crossings, Black Creek Trail is ideal for longer walks, jogs, or casual bike rides with your pup trotting beside you.

Watch for iguanas, birds, and the occasional wild splash—this is South Florida, after all.

    3) Lincoln City Park

21200 SW 99th Ct, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

Lincoln City Park is the perfect low-key spot for a leashed walk with your pup, just 6 minutes from Goulds.

Small but functional, this neighborhood park offers a shaded walking path, lighted basketball courts, and open green space ideal for gentle strolls and breathers.

While not built for dog-specific fun, Lincoln City Park's vibe is casual, quiet, and local, ideal for short morning walks or stretching your pup's furry legs before heading home.

Bring waste bags and keep your dog leashed, especially near the playground.

    4) Blue Heron Park

21900 SW 97th Ave, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

Find a scenic and shaded corner of Cutler Bay for leashed walks and fresh air at Blue Heron Park, just 6 minutes from Goulds.

With its butterfly garden, paved walking trails, and large green fields, Blue Heron Park is a calm, nature-forward escape for you and your dog.

There are no designated dog features in this park, but the paved path makes a solid loop for daily walks, and there's plenty of space to explore.

Bring your own water and poop bags, and stick to the trails, as Blue Heron Park is a peaceful park meant for mellow outings.

    5) Bel-Aire Park

18500 SW 97 Avenue, Cutler Bay, FL 33157

A spot for easy dog walking, Bel-Aire Park is a 5-acre park located on Franjo Road south of SW 184th Street, just 8 minutes from Goulds, and is home to the Palmetto Raiders Youth Development Club tackle football and cheerleading program.

Bel-Aire Park is also used extensively for adult soccer and youth lacrosse practices and games, as it boasts a lighted athletic field.

Among the smaller parks within the neighborhood, its size and convenient location make it perfect for daily walks with your pup.

It has a playground for children and benches where you can take a breather after exercising with your dog around its extensive mix of trees and open green space.

Don't forget to bring Fido's leash and a water bowl for your pup to drink, as the fountains in this park are designed for humans.

    6) Cutler Ridge Park and Pool

10100 SW 200th St, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

If you're looking to enjoy an array of recreational activities, indoors AND outdoors, while getting in a few steps with Fido, Cutler Ridge Park and Pool will pique your interest.

A 10-acre park located on SW 200th Street west of Coral Sea Road and directly adjacent to Cutler Ridge Elementary School, just 8 minutes from Goulds, Cutler Ridge Park & Pool is home to Albion SC Miami (formerly Cutler Ridge Soccer Club), the Riptides Swim and Water Polo teams, and Southern Wahoos Aquatic Team.

It offers a multi-purpose recreation building, a 25-meter swimming pool, lighted and unlighted athletic fields, a picnic pavilion, and an expansive covered playground.

There are also outdoor picnic areas for small gatherings within the park.

While the park isn't officially designated as dog-friendly by Miami-Dade County, some locals do walk their dogs here, so be sure to keep your pup on a leash when you visit Cutler Ridge Park, especially if you plan on taking him to common areas in and around the park's perimeters!

It's also best to bring your own poop bags and water for your convenience.

    7) Patch of Heaven Sanctuary

    21900 SW 157th Ave, Miami, FL 33170

If your dog meditates better than you do, take them to Patch of Heaven Sanctuary, a 20-acre slice of zen just 9 minutes from Goulds, where butterflies float, banyan trees sprawl, and the only agenda is slow, intentional wandering (with a leash, of course).

This private nature preserve is like walking into a living fairytale with moss-draped trees, winding trails, koi ponds, and tucked-away temples that make your usual walk around the block look like amateur hour.

At Patch of Heaven Sanctuary, dogs are welcome as long as they're well-behaved and leashed (we promise, even your chaos goblin of a chihuahua will feel unusually calm here.)

Sure, it's not your typical dog park but a quiet, contemplative space, and if you and your four-legged sidekick are into mindful meanders, nature bathing, or sniffing things that aren't city sidewalks, Patch of Heaven Sanctuary will hit the spot.

Spiritual reset for you and a sensory adventure for your pup.

    Win-win.

    8) Lakes by the Bay Park

8551 SW 216th St, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

A 45-acre multi-use park located on SW 216th Street, one block east of SW 87th Avenue (directly behind Whigham Elementary School), Lakes by the Bay Park is another expansive recreational park you can bring Fido to, just 9 minutes from Goulds.

Primarily used for baseball, Lakes by the Bay Park boasts three lighted baseball/softball fields with four batting cages, taking up most of the park's space.

It also has two lighted soccer/football/lacrosse fields, a .6-mile exercise path with fitness stations, a covered playground, and a concession building with restrooms.

In December 2020, a canoe/kayak launch, three pavilions, and other amenities like a volleyball court and fitness stations were opened at the park.

Dogs on leashes are allowed along the edges of the park. Located on the outskirts of Cutler Bay, it's perfect for residents who live away from the city center and don't want to drive to another neighborhood to walk their dogs.

Don't forget to bring a doggie bowl so your dog can drink from the fountains!

    9) Saga Bay Park

8000 SW 205th St, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

A 5-acre park that contains four lighted tennis courts, outdoor fitness equipment, a covered playground, a paved walking path, restrooms, and plenty of open space, Fido will surely have a fun time spent in Saga Bay Park, just 11 minutes from Goulds.

At Saga Bay Park, dog owners can walk their pups in its vast green area while enjoying a quick game of tennis or exercising using the park's outdoor exercise equipment!

You can also take advantage of Saga Bay Park's paved walking path to do your morning or afternoon run or let Fido run its length, leashed.

Since Saga Bay Park doesn't have much shade, bring enough water for you and your furry pal, and of course, its leash!

    10) Saga Lake Park

Southwest 198th Street & 83rd Avenue, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

Saga Lake Park is another nature spot in Saga Bay on Saga Lake and one you shouldn't miss when exploring the area with Fido, just 11 minutes from Goulds.

While mostly passive, the park offers a five-acre open area that contains a picnic pavilion, paved fitness path, picnic tables, and a practice baseball/softball field.

Since it's right by the water, it also has a spectacular view, so you'll get an ideal backdrop to your exercise session or morning walk with your pup!

The walking path here is PERFECT for you and your dog to stretch your legs!

Bring doggie bags to clean up after your pup, and take the paved walking path straight to the water.

You'll have to bring your own water and water bottle, as this park is heavy on nature and light on amenities.

    11) Whispering Pines Park

8800 Ridgeland Dr, Cutler Bay, FL 33157

Another small park, just 11 minutes from Goulds, Whispering Pines Park, is of average size for a suburban park at 1.3 acres, but what it lacks in space, it makes up for with variety!

At the park, you'll find a sports field and a playground for children.

There is also a small picnic area, complete with tables and benches.

Visiting dogs will enjoy its simple walking path that loops the park.

Keep your dog leashed inside Whispering Pines Estates park, and bring a doggie bowl to share water from the fountains.

    12) Kevin Broils Park (Top Pick!)

26150 SW 125th Ave, Quail Heights, FL 33177

Kevin Broils Park might be known for its sports fields and fitness trail, but it's also a great place for a leashed dog walk, just 11 minutes from Goulds.

This community park features open fields, shaded paths, and a family-friendly atmosphere that makes it a good pit stop for both kids and canines.

And while there's no dedicated dog area, dogs on leashes are welcome throughout Kevin Broils Park, so invite Fido to take advantage of the walking trail that loops the park and consider stopping by during quiet hours for a more relaxed vibe.

As always, bring waste bags and water—there aren't pet-specific amenities at Kevin Broils Park.

    13) Perrine Wayside Dog Park (Top Pick!)

16425 S. Dixie Highway, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157

Lushly landscaped with two entrances, Perrine Wayside Dog Park is Palmetto Bay's resident dog park, newly enhanced and ready to welcome 'hoomans' and dogs alike, just 11 minutes from Goulds.

Standing at three acres, the unique bark park offers a separate area for large and small breeds, an attractive gazebo where pet parents can seek refuge under the hot sun, and park furniture for relaxing and hanging out.

There is also a large filtered pond for dipping and water play, but note that there are turtles, tadpoles, and fish in the pond too.

Other features include water fountains with low, medium, and standard faucets for dogs and their owners, several places to pick up your dog's waste, and a peaceful setting that you and your dog will enjoy every time you visit.

    Don't forget Fido's leash!
