If you need to wind down, relax, and reflect while enjoying a couple of activities in between, visit a sprawling urban outdoor sports and recreation complex with a fascinating history, situated in the northern stretches just south of Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, Amelia Earhart Park, just right at the crossroads of Hialeah and Opa-Locka.
A 515-acre park that encompasses a soccer complex with four mini fields, a petting zoo, a disc golf course, bike trails, sand volleyball courts, and an island playground, Amelia Earhart Park draws dog owners with yet another paw-some amenity, an enormous five-acre bark park!
The dog area features small and large sections with expansive, grass-carpeted spaces to run and mingle with pals.
When it's hot outside, the Bark Park offers plenty of shade and water sprays to help keep dogs feeling fresh.
Water fountains for people and pups, benches and picnic tables, doggie waste bags, and trash cans are also available.

Open from sunrise to sunset, Acadia Park offers a basketball court and an expansive playground for the kids.
It also features a large open space for multipurpose use, covering approximately two football fields, so feeling cramped here is out of the question!

Welcome to K-9 Cove, Miami Lakes' one and only dog park, just 13 minutes from Opa-Locka.
The fun doggie destination features a passive recreational area and two separate fenced areas for smaller and larger dogs.
It is mostly flat ground, which means plenty of room to roam for your pup!
Aside from its expansive area, K-9 Cove also offers benches, drinking fountains for dogs, and a joint open-air shelter for pet owners.
You'll find a portion of a 10-foot-wide bike trail along the south side of Palmetto Frontage Road nearby, too!
4) Goodlet Park

Turns out, Hialeah has a sweet surprise for pups after all!
Just 15 minutes from Opa-Locka, Goodlet Park, a community favorite for its rec leagues and pickleball, is also home to Bark Avenue, a dedicated dog park designed to let your furry sidekick run wild (legally and leash-free).
Inside Bark Avenue, you'll find water stations to keep your pup hydrated, agility equipment for a little four-legged CrossFit, and plenty of open space for tail-chasing sprints.
Beyond the dog park, Goodlet offers the usual local favorites, pickleball courts, playgrounds, shaded picnic spots, and a friendly vibe.
Remember, outside the fenced dog area, Fido must be leashed and off the sports fields.

For pure fun under the sun and green spaces to share with your pup in Hialeah, come to Spanish Lake Park, a park that offers the perfect spot for a stroll and picnic date with Fido, 16 minutes from Opa-Locka!
While there is no structured programming available at this terrific spot, Spanish Lake Park boasts a pavilion offering shade from the sun and picnic-style seating, abundant grassy areas for frisbee, ball, or a game of tug, alongside a cemented walkway with fantastic views of the region.
Trees throughout the grounds provide ample shade, so that no one returns home with a sunburn as a souvenir of their fun visit!
Please bring a lead for your pup and some water to avoid dehydration.
