What's new in Country Walk?

I've all the juicy "deets" for anyone who wants to know!

Known as one of West Kendall's most picturesque suburban escapes — where lakes shimmer behind quiet backyards and tree-lined streets wrap around family parks — Country Walk proves there's more to love than peaceful living and perfect curb appeal.

Think safety boosts, new healthcare hubs, neighborhood fitness finds, and gigantic West Kendall developments changing the local landscape — all topped off with a community festival that keeps the spirit alive year after year!

The future looks bright (and busy!) for Country Walk, and we've got you front-row seats to everything new and exciting happening right in this corner of West Kendall!

Here are 5 things new to watch for in Country Walk.

A Step Up on Safety and Community Care is Underway!

Where: Country Walk (SW 152nd St & 137th Ave area)

When: Ongoing

Good news! Security in Country Walk remains stronger, thanks to the HOA teaming up with Miami-Dade Police to keep the neighborhood calm and crime-free.

Since summer, patrol cars have been making regular rounds near the parks, entryways, and quiet residential streets — a reassuring sight for families who love their evening walks and weekend bike rides.

Neighborhood watch groups also retain the momentum by posting safety tips and updates through the HOA's online channels.

This teamwork that keeps Country Walk feeling safe, friendly, and as close-knit as ever — a community that always has each other's backs.

Round-the-Clock Relief Lands Near Country Walk

Where: 14150 SW 136th St, Miami, FL 33186

When: March 2025

A vital boost to local care has arrived, courtesy of the newest Baptist Health South Florida Freestanding Emergency Center, a 24/7 facility offering full-service emergency treatment across from Miami Executive Airport.

Baptist Health South Florida Freestanding Emergency Center features 12 private treatment rooms, on-site imaging, and laboratory services, offering families immediate access to top-tier care.

Open year-round and staffed by Baptist's experienced clinicians, this new addition provides peace of mind for nearby communities, such as Country Walk, The Hammocks, and West Kendall, becoming a safety net for immediate hospital assistance, from unexpected injuries to urgent medical needs.

Fleet Feet Brings the Runner's High Home

Where: Country Walk Plaza, 13713 SW 152nd St, Miami, FL 33177

When: December 2024

Country Walk's fitness crowd just scored a win with the arrival of Fleet Feet, the first Miami-area branch of the popular running retailer.

The shop opened its doors at Country Walk Plaza and instantly became the go-to hangout for local runners, walkers, and weekend fitness buffs alike.

Offering expert gait analysis, custom fittings, and a full range of high-performance footwear, Fleet Feet has been hosting free group runs and community fitness events all year long—a neighborhood energy booster that gets people moving and makes it even harder to find excuses to skip the morning jog.

The West Kendall Boom Creeps Closer to Country Walk

Where: West Kendall (SW 136th–152nd Streets, between SW 162nd Ave and Krome Ave)

When: Proposed October 2025 (pending hearings)

A wave of city growth is brewing just west of Country Walk, starting with City Park at West Kendall, a proposed $2 billion, 990-acre "15-minute city" from Lennar and The Easton Group.

If approved, it will bring 7,800 new homes, a bustling downtown-style core lined with shops, restaurants, and offices, along with more than 250 acres of parks, trails, and lakes, where residents can live, work, and play locally.

The plan also includes 1,000 workforce housing units for teachers, nurses, and first responders to balance access with West Kendall's suburban charm.

There will be hearings about it later this year, and residents are already watching closely to see how this ambitious project could reshape their lifestyle as they know it.

Adding to the list of westward progress is the long-discussed Kendall Parkway Expressway (SR-836 Southwest Extension).

The Greater Miami Expressway Agency has resumed geotechnical studies and permit coordination for the proposed 13-mile stretch that would run west of Country Walk, adding new north-south highway access and easing daily congestion.

While construction funding is TBA, the revived planning marks momentum after years of environmental standstills — and if completed, the parkway could make Miami's downtown commute a little less painful for Country Walk residents.

Country Walk's Fall Festival Tradition Returns for Its 14th Year

Where: Country Walk Clubhouse and Lakefront Park (15011 SW 127th Ave, Miami, FL 33186)

When: November 1, 2025

The neighborhood's favorite tradition is back!

The 14th Annual Fall Arts & Crafts Festival will take over Country Walk's clubhouse and lakefront park for another day of fun, food, and community spirit, expecting over 100 local vendors showcasing handmade crafts, décor, and unique finds, plus food trucks, live music, and a full kids' zone to keep little ones entertained all day long.

With crowds often topping 2,000 attendees, it's the perfect way to spend a Saturday, supporting local artisans, catching up with neighbors, and soaking in that small-town energy that makes Country Walk a family-friendly community.

Admission is free, so grab your lawn chair, bring your appetite, and mark your calendar for one of West Kendall's most beloved annual events.
