Nestled just southwest of Hallandale Beach and Hollywood, minutes from world-famous beaches, Pembroke Park may seem like a dot on the map of South Florida.

Yet, it's a small, proud town that's a short drive to the Greater Lauderdale area's best assets-- shopping, golf, tennis, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, diving, snorkeling, arts, culture, and live entertainment.

A community with a total area of 1.6 square miles, of which 1.4 square miles is land and 0.27 square miles is water, Pembroke Park is near Hollywood, West Park, Hallandale Beach, Miami Gardens, and Miami-Dade County's unincorporated community of Ives Estates.

And since it's part of the South Florida metropolitan area, it boasts proximity to an array of top tourist attractions often found on tourists' go-to lists-- and has a few parks and fun activities of its own, too!

To put it simply, when in Pembroke Park, you're in the heart of all the best attractions and activities throughout Broward County that draw millions to visit and live in this area.

Tiny but mighty, this town isn't one to miss when you're looking to experience Florida at its finest without having to stay in the big city!

Here are the top five things you can do while you're here:

For a quaint town, you'll be surprised with Pembroke Park's variety of delicious eats!

Here, you'll find plenty of fast food and sit-down chain choices in Pembroke Park, including a few restaurants that serve your favorite international fare.

Italian, Bahamian, Classic American, and the elusive Canadian-American cuisines-- I could go on and on about the dining options that await you in Pembroke Park!

Breakfast, lunch, snacks, or dinner-- this tiny community has you covered!

Are you feeling short on choices?

No sweat!

There are also top-rated independent restaurants nearby since Pembroke Park is just a short drive from larger cities like Hollywood and Hallandale Beach!

With zero malls in Pembroke Park, apart from Hollywood Shopping Plaza, the town makes up for it with proximity to top shopping destinations in nearby communities!

Yes, folks, you'll have to make that short drive for your retail escapades, but you'll find the trip quick and easy!

Your best bets are The Shops at Pembroke Gardens, Pembroke Lakes Mall, Hollywood Hills Plaza, and Pembroke Place.

If you think about it, your choices are still a handful since Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, and Hallandale Beach are known tourist-heavy communities, so shops are scattered throughout the area.

Location isn't the only thing that puts this small town on the map.

At Pembroke Park, you're never far from a park.

It's no surprise, though. "Park" is right in its name!

The town boasts four parks, one in each corner.

Pembroke Park Preserve, or Raymond P. Oglesby Environmental Preserve, is one of its most famous nature enclaves.

The preserve is a 13-acre passive park with four pavilions & barbeque stations, a half-mile walking/jogging trail, multiple playground systems, petanque courts, and a 20-station exercise system.

In winter, it hosts a Celtic Music Program and Picnic every Wednesday, from Thanksgiving to Easter.

Other town parks include Ryan Park, Howard P. Clark Linear Walkwayand Patrick Behan Park

Most have similar facilities.

Nothing like a serene walk in the park for some nature and relaxation!
