An island town offering South Florida's allure on a sliver of land, Key Biscayne is a quaint paradise that offers a laid-back island living with extensive city convenience, from malls and movie theaters to restaurants and bars-- and a few schools within its perimeter!

Known as Miami-Dade County's "Island Paradise," Key Biscayne is a village that lies south of Miami Beach and east of Miami.

It is a pocket of paradise between two state parks, the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, connected to the city via Rickenbacker Causeway, a low-key tropical oasis with quaint neighborhoods, palm tree-lined streets, and various outdoor activity options.

The residential enclave attracts tourists and residents worldwide with its vibrant and laid-back island culture, providing a sweet escape from the busy Miami city life.

Yet, despite being lauded as an island paradise, the village is by no means an island without many amenities city folks seek. In fact, one can even say the island town has everything you would ever need to live a comfortable modern life-- yes, even its own schools!

Here's a list of schools in Key Biscayne.

    ELEMENTARY

     1)   St. Christopher's By-The-Sea Episcopal Montessori School (PK-6)

95 Harbor Dr, Key Biscayne, FL 33149

A private Episcopal school for levels PK-6, St. Christopher's By-The-Sea Episcopal Montessori School offers a distinctive and unique Montessori experience.

St. Christopher's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church's Montessori School was born in 1968 with the opening of its preschool program. Years after, the school expanded to include elementary education for children in grades one through five. Today, St. Christopher's offers a beautiful and nurturing educational environment within the diverse and international community of Key Biscayne and the surrounding vibrant Miami area.

While its students go on to reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit talents in a variety of programs, from performing arts to community service, St. Christopher's places an equal emphasis on moral and spiritual development.

According to recent data, the school has 148 students with a student-teacher ratio of 9 to 1.

     2)   St. Agnes Academy (PK-8)    (Top-Pick!)

122 Harbor Dr, Key Biscayne, FL 33149

A private Catholic school for levels PK-8, St. Agnes Academy provides strong Catholic values and academic excellence while encouraging students to become lifelong learners.

St. Agnes Academy believes that each student is a unique child of God. That said, the school guides its students' development into responsible, socially conscious, and faith-filled people by proclaiming the Gospel message of love and compassion-- in academics or after-school activities. St. Agnes Academy respects different learning style, provides hands-on experiences and student-teacher interaction, and actively involve students in the learning process.

Meanwhile, the school's curriculum is rooted in Catholic truths and values and fosters global awareness that impels students to serve others while constantly going through evaluation and revision based on current research.

According to recent data, the school has 429 students with a student-teacher ratio of 11 to 1.

     3)    Key Biscayne K-8 Center (PK-8)

150 W Mcintyre St, Key Biscayne, FL 33149

A public combination school that offers education for levels PK-8, Key Biscayne K-8 Center, also called the Key Biscayne Community School, is the largest school within the Village. It provides a nurturing, respectful, and safe environment where all students have opportunities to achieve academic excellence and attain social-emotional well-being.

Key Biscayne K-8 Center continues to enhance its competitive curriculum while aspiring to engage and prepare students through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). The school is committed to being a community of life-long learners and caring individuals through the recently incorporated Cambridge International Education.

Note that there is a lottery for parents looking to enroll their children in the limited Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program and ESL Cambridge program.

According to recent data, the school has 1,070 students, with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1, and the latest state test scores indicate that at least 82% of students are proficient in math and 78% in reading.
