😤 "Why are you using her name more than mine when you are texting us both?" This text to me was when I learned that I REALLY need to pay attention to EVERY detail when I am handling a divorce sale.⠀

Although I had done a few of these types of sales in the past, I had mistakenly not paid attention to this as much as I should have. ⠀

I was selling Javier and Maria's home (fake names) and they were in the process of getting divorced. As expected, things weren't perfect for them and emotions were running high.⠀

There was a very short time frame that we had to get the home sold or there was a chance that the bank was going to take it. We were fortunate that we were able to get an accepted offer in 57 days and were going thru the process towards closing the sale. ⠀

This is the toughest part of any sale even in a normal situation. So it is expected that tensions would be higher in a divorce sale.⠀

Long story short, we were able to close on the sale in separate offices at the title company. From that experience, I learned to use names equally in all communication during a divorce sale and to schedule the signings at closings at different times. A BIG lesson for me!⠀
