Tamiami Park, one of Tamiami's beloved outdoor recreational spots, just added six new dedicated pickleball courts last 2023 due to the 14.3% increase of pickleball enthusiasts in 2021!
These new courts are a great addition to Miami-Dade's parks system and will enhance Tamiami's quality of life, allowing Tamiami Park to remain the central recreation destination for residents!
Along with these new facilities, the 247-acre community park is home to the Miami-Dade County Fair and Expo Center, the famous Cuban Memorial Monument, Miracle League Field, bike and walking paths, a playground, baseball/softball fields, basketball courts, a football field, soccer field, tennis courts, and a 22-lane heated Olympic-size swimming pool!

Tamiami Trail Undergoing A Major Revamp!
When: Spring 2026
In June 2019, Governor DeSantis announced a $67 million roadway project for the famous Tamiami Trail, the Tamiami Trail Next Steps.
While completion is slated for Spring 2026, the second phase for the Tamiami Trail Next Steps commenced in 2021, providing six new bridges, seven improved culverts, and elevated sections across the Tamiami Trail roadway.
The Tamiami Trail Next Steps Phase 2 Project will also enhance the connectivity and sheet flow between the marshes north and south of the Tamiami Trail while maintaining a vital transportation link, allowing additional water to move south from Lake Okeechobee, which is critical for the successful implementation of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan.
