What's new in Key Biscayne?

I've all the juicy "deets" for anyone who wants to know!

With its lush natural beauty, alluring island lifestyle, and contemporary amenities, you'd think that Key Biscayne is at its BEST version.

But let me tell you, what you're seeing now is only HALF of what this coastal paradise can be!

In fact, Key Biscayne is gearing up to offer MORE, from new community projects and multi-million dollar renovations to exciting new dining spots to try!

Watch out, Miamians — this magical suburban oasis is about to ROCK your world!

Here are 3 things new to watch for in Key Biscayne.

Two New Community Projects Are Lined Up For The Village

Where: across Key Biscayne

When: TBA

The recent storms and high surf events have caused the Village of Key Biscayne, specifically its beach, significant damage, with a loss of up to 28.4 feet of shoreline in some areas.

With this, the Key Biscayne Council has agreed to rectify the situation with the Beach Renourishment project that started last March.

Once the project is completed, approximately 25,000 cubic yards of sand will be added to Key Biscayne Beach to protect the shoreline and dunes (and get it geared up for the upcoming 2024 turtle nesting season), alongside 48,300 plants to revegetate the reconstructed dune line.

But that's not all!

The Village Council also approved the purchase of two new ambulances at a cost not exceeding  $586,191 per vehicle, so Key Biscayne locals are expecting new ambulances this year, too!

Two new community projects in the first quarter of 2024?

What else is in store for the peeps of Key Biscayne?

A Famous Key Biscayne Hotel Is Getting A $100M Face-Lift And An Ownership Change!

Where: 455 Grand Bay Drive Key Biscayne, Miami, FL 33149

When: 2025

If you didn't already know, the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne recently changed hands after hospitality, developer, and investment firm Genom retook majority ownership of the island's flagship hotel.

But it's not all that's changing at Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne in the upcoming year!

It looks like Key Biscayne's most famous hotel & resort is getting a $100 million face-lift, too!

According to recent updates, Miami-based Gencom will pump $100 million into renovating and upgrading the hotel's guestrooms, public spaces, amenities, and food and beverage options.

The highly-anticipated makeover is set in 2025, ensuring Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne remains the top luxury resort on the island!

New Restaurant Alert — Fulano Miami and Gramps Getaway!

Where: across Key Biscayne

When: Happening Now!

For a community bordered by an ocean and a bay, waterfront restaurants, and bars are surprisingly hard to come by, especially those with decent prices for food and drinks that are actually good!

Well, until now!

You see, just recently, two new eats have joined Key Biscayne's diverse but limited dining scene, with one along Rickenbacker Marina!

Yes, peeps, we're talking about the pioneering Wynwood bar, Gramps, and Argentinian restaurant, Fulano Miami!

Replacing Whiskey Joe's in Rickenbacker Marina is Gramps' Getaway (3301 Rickenbacker Cswy), a campy, authentically Florida dining spot with boat access, skyline views, freshly caught seafood, tropical drinks, and all the funky thrills the famous Wynwood bar is known for — mixed with a "beach-casual-attire" kind of vibe!

Meanwhile, Fulano Miami (328 Crandon Blvd Ste 117) boasts traditional Argentinian milanesa and exotic entries, providing a change of pace from Key Biscayne's plethora of island eateries.

Looks like you'll be spending your weekend trying out new cuisines around the Village!
